who works in a garden center, this is totally random, but…
he is very cool, he’s very cool in the way only a person who isn’t aware of the fact that they are cool, is cool. He’s very young [ in comparison to me ] and he also reminds me very much of me when i was younger, before i learned how to disguise how feeling alienated from most of the human race felt.
sometimes, ok, every time i see him, i want to explain how things are when you get older, how you don’t feel so lost etc etc, but i never do, because i may just be projecting.
damn, i wish there’d been someone who could have explained all this stuff to me around when i was there.
like i said, totally random…
less bugger all happening…

mmm…sunny weather, in march, what to do?
Garden, that’s what.
This may become an unofficial garden blog, but let’s face it, there’s bugger all happening on the painting front, so might as well do something else instead. Apart from the fact that I have developed a serious interest in vegetable ( not flower) growing.
So I’ve sown 5 varieties of tomato, 2 types of chilli, parsnips, broad beans, peas, beetroot, carrots, 3 types of aubergines, my potatoes ( Maris Piper and Desiree) are chitting nicely and today I will shortly be sowing some shallots.
I know I’m more or less behind in sowing compared to others in this area, but hopefully, they’ll all have time to catch up come the summer.
Expect pictures. Plus, i am very chuffed my garlic didn’t rot and is now 8″ high. Woot woot as they say.
It’s amazing how possesive i get of my plants, and how excited I am to see them grow.
Maybe a change of career from pharmaceutical to horticultural is needed.
it’s the same thing again…

I went to a gig in Howard Gardens a few weeks ago, it’s been 20 years since I was there last.
It hasn’t changed much except for a sparkly new entrance guarded by a very nice man ( that time anyway)
I have spent more or less 20 years drifting, or at least it feels like that, even if I have done a degree and had a few exhibitions, it still feels like I’ve achieved the grand total of bugger all.
Must be getting old…
Or it really is true.
And there’s nothing like reading a book about evolution to make you feel absolutely insignificant in the whole planetary scheme of things.
Ignore me, I’m having a self-pity moment.

Visited the Ashmolean yesterday, first time in years, it was an attempt to kickstart something.

Doesn’t this look like the kind of thing you could find in your own sketchbook? It’s like drunken drawing in the pub.

Frugal Hacks?
Thursday, September 4, 2008
While I was wandering around on the net, as you do, I found a blog with a button announcing they were a frugal hacker, so naturally, I clicked on the link to find out what it was.
Basically, just a blog about being frugal, but if you wanted to join the blogroll, I quote
Your blog must be clean and family-friendly and must be compatible with a Christian worldview. I reserve the right to reject any blog that I deem to be inappropriate.
Huh? No pagan frugalistas? Fair enough though…but what does it mean anyway? You have to be Christian? You have to have Christian principles but not necessarily be Christian?
How very, very strange..
So patently untrue…

The Something Somethings
Wednesday, July 30, 2008
The Something Somethings are a truly unpredictable band, you never quite know what’s going to happen next, obviously apart from the next song that is - ok, and Griff taking off his clothes…
They’re playing at Rebellion this year, they should headline a day, not be the first band on when most people are still in the pub girding their loins. Go watch them. They’re absolutely full-on, in your face, and they give it everything, every time. Who could ask for more?
