regretfully, i declined painting the motorbike tank, I couldn’t have got a really good finish on it, and having been to bike shows and seen some of the artwork, (here comes the inflated head bit) i could have done the image brilliantly, but just not by airbrushing……

bloody hell, i’ve got a whirlwind few weeks coming up.I have to do the commission, also have another commission, to ( attempt to ) paint a motorbike petrol tank, I’ve never done that before, haven’t a clue what materials to use, so there’ll be a whole lot of googling going on thursday evening.
So…Wales was very very hot, very sunny, and very exhausting funnily enough.There are always so many people to see, and also, being selfish, so much time i’d like to spend re-visiting places i love.
Behind the house i used to live in there, is an old railway line, now it’s turned into a walk, or amble from one side of the valley to Margham in Swansea, about 30 miles away, through the country park
you can walk off the line at certain points, one of those is Maesyfynnon Lane, which runs down into Aberdare, and comes out by the Full Moon pub on the corner, which is about two streets away from my parents house
and on the way back, i stopped again at Magor services and had a double Edgar Allen Poe moment, while i ate a strawberry cornetto ( which was horrible, sometimes it’s better to leave the things you used to like behind )

my back garden
I don’t know what the flowers above are, i think they’re some kind of pansy maybe, i threw in some seeds last year and that’s what happened to them.My favourite ones are the deep red with the shocking pink outside, they look exactly like crushed velvet.
And lastly, my three pairs of shoes…
I’m going back to Wales today, I have an actual real live weekend off, so i can personally deliver my fathers Fathers Day card.

The Bow Street Runners played last night in Area 51 ( ok, they weren’t called that last night, but that’s what they’re called today and forever more.. ) and while they weren’t particularly tight ( it was their first gig ), they more than made up for it with the frontmans style, and their enthusiasm, something sadly lacking in a lot of other bands ( or mistaken as synonymous with enormous ego ), so I reckon in a while, they’ll be absolutely excellent
p.s. if i hear one more metal band frontman shouting ‘motherfucker’ every other word and talking in an american accent when the nearest they’ve got to america is mcdonalds in swindon, i swear i’ll punch their lights out.

you’ve got to love him haven’t you? I mean, if selfish and insensitive needed a poster child, I reckon Damien Hirst would be it
… the artist found himself submerged in a row yesterday over plans to paint the scene of an unsolved murder…A spokeswoman for Hirst said that the issue had been “blown out of all proportion” but the work would not now go ahead because the photographer and family had objected.
