coming on the heels of a crash i’ve now discovered i have lost all, i repeat ALL of my bookmarks, everything.
PAH!!
d’you know, you’d think after a while a person would have known something like this would happen and take steps to prevent it, if they couldn’t, you’d assume it would be an idea to back-up
well, i bloody didn’t, so don’t let it happen to you. buy cd’s now, buy a zip drive, any-bloody-thing to avoid this fruitless search for all the things you think you need and some of the ones you want
ah well, one good thing, i regularly save pages instead of making them bookmarks, so at least i haven’t lost those

i was seduced by playing with the creams.

strangeland

i had some book tokens for christmas ( thank you thank you ) , so i bought Tracey Emins’ book because i wanted to read it, and it was half-price
some bits of it were like little jewels, they flashed and glittered on the page, and made me glad i’d read it
most bits though, were complete and utter bollocks

germany

Monday, January 16, 2006

got back from a weekend in germany/holland late last night, also went there last year for a bit.
things that really hit me when i was there

  • people don’t act the same way in the presence of alcohol, they don’t want to fight anyone
  • public transport is incredibly good, clean and reliable
  • the fast-food is tastier than pre-packaged meals here
  • re-cycling is ingrained and solar- and wind-power are used extensively
  • the country is gorgeous, the land and the architecture
  • and most important, the people are really really friendly, and will make a real effort to help idiots who don’t speak their language, like me

if i was going to move country, i’d move there.
