Is it just me, or does carbon offsetting sound like a complete cop-out?
Basically, you can be as environmentally unfriendly as you like, but as long as you purchase credits from a company that will use your money for enviromentally friendly projects, then who cares? You’ve offset your carbon emissions against someone planting a tree somewhere – although again, who knows? Your money could be going nowhere but into their pocket because they’ve managed to persuade a dimwit that money cures all ills, including your guilty conscience
Perfect for those people and companies who can’t bear to live without their air-miles, or without their nice big landfill plot.
